~Brian and Cheryl

We’re Brian & Cheryl Nelsen and are always finding common ground together in our relationship by improving our communication skills. Sometimes life throws you speed bumps–divorce for each of us. We would love to share our experiences of how we are finding common ground together. We’ve been hunting together since shortly after we met–in Cheryl’s middle school science classroom! Just like a headline right from the paper

First, we will be sharing what we have learned through our adventures. Enjoying life requires patience with each other and strong communication skills. Next, we spend time together—lots of it. Above all, each of us believe self-reflection and enhancing our communication skills have helped us overcome ‘speed bumps’ and bond closely with each other. Consequently, Brian and I hope to help you build a more resilient relationship–something we all desire, right? Let us help you find that common ground.

Finding Your best self

Furthermore, everyone has room for self-improvement. For example, finding patience can be key when conversations turn frustrating. Take a breath & select words wisely. Self-reflection can help you gain tremendous insight. Let us share what has helped us through struggles to create balance and to find our best selves.

Nurturing through nature has many health advantages. Some of our activities include birdwatching, hiking, camping, fishing, gardening, and hunting. While we each have our favorites, we often spend time just hanging out.

Finding places that help calm your soul, inspire you, and help you relax are necessary to keep a healthy balance in your life. In addition, there are many health benefits to routinely taking care of one’s inner spirit. You might find that you sleep better, smile more, or even lower your blood pressure.

Minimize Distractions

Moreover, our time in nature is a safe haven that minimizes outside influences, allowing us to discuss issues and evolve into a more respectful, supportive couple. For instance, while in a hunting blind, there are plenty of opportunities to discuss a whole plethora of topics without distractions. Therefore, our adventures will help you see how we found our common ground.

Creating a resilient relationship with Brian puts a smile on my face

Cheryl learned a few hunting skills from growing up daddy’s girl; however, the middle years of her life had other priorities, and she felt a huge identity loss. As time passed, the urgency of leading a fulfilling life felt pressing, which lead her to join several local conservation groups. Surrounding herself with like-minded people became a priority. A mutual friend introduced Brian as a guest speaker, and the rest is history.

Time in the blind allows us to build strong communication skills & find common ground

Brian has always loved all things hunting; mostly self-taught, with some skills learned from great mentors and friends. Consequently, he can be quite set in his ways—rightfully so–because they are tested and true. However, this is a point that in the beginning tested Cheryl’s patience. Brian can also step into the mentor role very easily.  He knows a wealth about wildlife and history. Storytelling is his forte & provides hours of entertainment.

There’s nothing we love more than enjoying our outdoor hobbies! Above all, we believe that every outing teaches us something new and gives us opportunities to improve our communication skills. In conclusion, join our adventures over hill and dale as we grow together—always seeking common ground.

We can’t wait to meet you!

Let us help you develop resiliency and share in your joy!
